this morning beginning at 7:00 a.m. as the cold front moved through. now you could barely even tell we had any rain at all. we are looking live now, folks, and you can see the receive rain has pushed on to the south and east of the bay area. still getting a few little sprinkles here and there between morgan hill and hollister. mainly at the higher elevations, but most of the rain, or actually all of the rain has moved out of the area. we did have quite a bit of rainfall. we still have a couple of river watches. these are river watches in affect until tomorrow morning. the river right now is at 27 feet. it looks like it will crest tomorrow morning below flood stage at 30 feet. the napa river in napa 23 feet right now. you can see the flood stage is 25 feet. it crested earlier today at 26 feet. it is just a foot above flood stage. it is now receding. i think the flood watch for that part of the napa river will be lifted in the next couple hours. how much rainfall? we take a look at that coming up. >> thank you. >>> hundreds of people living on the peninsula abandoned their homes after

, correct? when you get together as you assemble, make sure you have, at least one person has something here that you guys can all use. different types of buildings are in the city. we have wood, unreinforced masonry, you have high rise and you have tilt ups. what's the safest construction type to be? four stories or less. wood? yeah, wood framed building. why is wood the safest building to be in, 4 stories or less? it flexes, yeah, it's flexible. what's the danger here? chimney, yeah, fireplace. be aware of the fact that just because it's a wood building and the event caused some sort of compromise of the structure of the building and the building is still standing doesn't necessarily mean there's not a danger there. so what could you as nert's do to make that situation better or at least keep it the same so no one else gets hurt? keep it off, yeah. keep people away. perfect. take out some of that yellow tape that you have, that yellow caution tape, and string it around around keep people back. in this particular case, what could you do to make that situation better? turn off the gas.

this man at the creek and the police chief just told me a short time ago, they will be back out here and searchers will later on this morning at first light continue that search but for now the search has been called off. th are looking for a suspected drunk driver who jumped into the water. police have been searching the creek and authorities have been using a boat to look for the man but so far no sight of him. the police chief said they tried to make a dui stop on the man's car. the man got out of the car but during the field sobriety test he took off into the creek. he jumped a fence and jumped into the water and they did try to get him to encourage him to come back to shore. >> we tried to encourage him to come back and he swam away from the officers and he couldn't anymore... >> reporter: authorities will be coming back out here around 7:00 a.m. this morning and again they will be searching the waterways and southering areas and -- surrounding areas and if need be, if those efforts are coming up short, they will call on a dive team to see if this man's body is under water

at today, we've got slightly quiet markets ahead of the u.s. open. what we're seeing, though, that all the markets are being called lower across the board stateside. the dow is being called a bit lower, nasdaq is being called a bit lower and the s&p 500 being called down by a bybit, as well. we saw markets coming off on friday stateside. pretty significant drops, as well, given that we now seem to be a clashing of heads between the republicans and the democrats in regards to moving forward on the fiscal cliff issue. it does seems as though they're running into logger heads here slowly before the last couple of days before the deadline to solve the fiscal cliff negotiations. the ftse 100, a couple of points higher at the moment. same going for the spanish market, the aex in the corner. we're looking at relatively flattish trade here in europe on christmas eve. let's recap off of what we've seen in asia in the overnight session here. you're looking at slight gains across the board. the shanghai composite up by .25%. you're seeing similar gains in the s&p asx and the hang seng, the ko
